About Us

Interoperability & Embeddable Intelligence for the Robots of Tomorrow.

Olive Robotics designs AI-native, ROS-powered hardware that brings real-time sensor fusion, autonomy, and scalable perception to any robot.

Origin

Olive Robotics was founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich with a singular goal: to simplify robotics by embedding intelligence directly into hardware. What began as an academic pursuit of high-precision sensor fusion quickly evolved into a company dedicated to building modular, interoperable, and AI-native platforms that bridge research, prototyping, and industrial deployment. Headquartered in Munich-Ottobrunn, Olive Robotics is driven by a global team of engineers and researchers committed to shaping the foundation of next-generation robotics.

Vision

To build a world where robots become seamlessly integrated into every aspect of life and industry, powered by intelligent, interoperable hardware that acts as the universal interface between machines and the physical world.

Mission

We design and deliver ROS-native, AI-powered hardware that transforms raw sensor data into real-time intelligence. Our mission is to empower engineers, researchers, and OEMs to accelerate robotics innovation by providing modular, scalable, and future-proof building blocks for autonomy.

Our 7 Core Values

Here are our 7 core values that we live by every day — they are principles we operate by every day, guiding how we design, collaborate, and deliver.

  1. Interoperability First
We build hardware and software that work seamlessly together, reducing friction and enabling robotics ecosystems to scale.

  2. Precision & Reliability
Our products are engineered for mission-critical performance, with deterministic latency, robust synchronization, and industrial-grade resilience.

  3. Engineer-Centric
We design with developers in mind — plug-and-play tools that reduce complexity and accelerate innovation.

  4. Innovation at the Edge
By embedding AI directly into devices, we move intelligence closer to the data source for faster, smarter, and more adaptive robotics.

  5. Scalability by Design
From research prototypes to fleet deployments, our modular architecture ensures robotics can grow without reinvention.

  6. Collaboration & Community
As members of OSRA and contributors to ROS, we champion open standards and partnerships that strengthen the robotics ecosystem.

  7. Future-Driven Impact
We measure success not just in products, but in the long-term transformations our technology enables — safer work, smarter factories, and more capable autonomous systems.

Our Story

From TU Munich Labs to Robotic Reality

Olive Robotics started as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich with a clear purpose: to make robotics simpler, smarter, and more interoperable. What began as a research initiative grew into a company focused on solving one of the biggest challenges in robotics — the gap between powerful algorithms and the hardware that enables them. From the start, Olive’s vision has been to embed intelligence directly into sensors and actuators, creating building blocks that make robots faster to develop and more reliable to deploy.

Driven by expertise in embedded AI, real-time systems, and ROS 2, the Olive team designed a platform of modular hardware — IMUs, vision systems, connectivity modules, and controllers — that speak the same language out of the box. Each device integrates seamlessly with ROS, powered by olixOS™ and olixAI™, transforming raw signals into actionable intelligence in real time. This approach turns robotics from a fragmented puzzle into a scalable ecosystem where sensing, motion, and communication align perfectly.

Today, Olive Robotics is recognized as a pioneer in embedded intelligence for robotics. With partnerships ranging from research institutions to industry leaders, and membership in programs like NVIDIA Inception and OSRA, Olive continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible. The mission remains unchanged: to become the backbone of interoperable robotics, empowering innovators to build robots that adapt, scale, and truly understand the world around them.

Olive Robotics is driven by a simple idea: robotics deserves a better technical foundation. By uniting real-time embedded systems, AI-driven sensor fusion, and ROS-native interoperability, we are transforming how robots perceive, process, and act in the world. We believe that autonomy cannot advance without a robust foundation in real-time embedded systems and intelligent sensor fusion. That’s why every Olive product is engineered with uncompromising accuracy, deterministic performance, and seamless ROS-native integration. For engineers and system builders, this translates into hardware that is predictable, reliable, and designed to accelerate innovation. From high-frequency IMUs to modular controllers, our focus is on creating tools that let roboticists spend less time troubleshooting and more time building. At its core, Olive is not just designing components; we are crafting the technical backbone that enables robotics to scale with confidence and clarity.
